SURA Professional Risks was founded in January 2013 by Paul Robinson and in March of the following year, Austagencies Holdings Limited acquired a 50% interest in the business. They helped pioneered the Austagencies / SURA “owner / driver” business model which offers a platform for key underwriting talent with a vested interest to manage their own portfolio.

Since their launch, they have grown substantially to have an underwriting team of 9 in Sydney and Melbourne & have also launched the very successful SURA Technology Risks Underwriting Agency.

Their vision is to support their aligned insurance advisers and brokers, as well as the Independent Broker market, and be a leading niche Underwriting Agency in Australia, distributing quality insurance products and services that offer value to the customer.

They pride themselves on delivering an SME business model that meets the needs of the mid to small end broker and act as a resource to educate and provide advanced technical knowledge. SURA Professional Risks continues to position itself as an open market underwriting agency which capitalises on the strong pre-existing broker relationships their experienced underwriters have forged over their careers.
