SURA Construction has won a second consecutive silver medal in the construction category of Insurance Business Australia’s annual Brokers on Underwriters Survey.
SURA Construction Director Michael Holbrook said the recognition was testament to the team’s commitment to good underwriting principles and highly personalised service.
“Our focus has always been on product knowledge, listening to our brokers’ needs and pricing business according to its merits,” he said.
“Delivering these three key propositions is at the core of our business model so it’s very satisfying to see this approach continue to resonate with our customers.”
The survey also revealed a number of insights into broker preferences across the industry.
Levels of coverage remain the most important factor in the underwriter-broker relationship for the fourth consecutive year. Broker support jumped from fifth to second from last year’s survey and overall service levels rounded out the top three.
Turnaround times on claims and new business also ranked lower than last year, coming in at fourth and fifth. Brokers also ranked premium stability and commission structures as less significant with the latter being voted as the least important.
Mr Holbrook said the results were a strong reminder of the need to prioritise broker engagement and deliver service that builds trust and confidence in the underwriter-broker relationship.
