SURA Construction and SURA Engineering Join Forces

SURA Construction and SURA Engineering are combining into a single, consolidated team.

From 10 October 2018, the two business will form a single operational and underwriting team providing brokers a larger pool of resources, greater depth of expertise and increased efficiency.

Director Blair Arnot said joining the two teams would provide a seamless and valuable service to brokers and increase cross selling opportunities for SURA.

“There’s a strong link between the construction and engineering industries and consolidating our underwriting offering across both will help us deliver a stronger overall package to both markets,” he said.

The new combined team will continue to offer SURA’s existing construction and engineering products, security and continued access to its in-house claims team.

Brokers will also be able to access SURA’s construction and engineering underwriters locally from its Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide offices.

“A key part of increasing our service capability was being able to provide local service,” Mr Arnot said.

“Having bases in four capital cities will help us deliver easier and more personalised service to our brokers.”

Blair Arnot and Michael Holbrook will serve as directors for the new combined offering with Jim Wiechman and Peter Curtis continuing their roles as heads of the respective construction and engineering underwriting teams.
